Azher'Tek

Azher’Tek were once humans but were converted by a magic spell dubbed The Change, hijacked by Mordred. The humans who fell victim to the spell evolved into a new race designed by Mordred himself to best serve his purposes. They became obsessed with obtaining new knowledge, advancing their skills, and serving him as their new god. The transformation from human to Tek was incredibly painful as the Capability for magic was forced upon their bodies. Various members of the race lost pieces of themselves such as emotion, empathy, and morality. In extreme cases, some of the Tek merely seem to be living robots, existing only for their purpose: obtaining knowledge and serving Mordred. Almost all Tek have the Capability for Access, Affection, and Absorption. The Tek that were forced from the lowest Capability are the most insane due to the corruption and pain of their transformations. Azher'Tek have black veins (like lightning) across their bodies. Purple lines run down their face from their tear ducts, remnants of the pain they endured to undergo their transformation. Their ears are normal human ears, but wavy on the tips due to Mordred forcing the Capability on them. They lost their hair in the transformation. Long legs with runner bodies. Discovered long after Mordred's passing, the Azher’Tek possess the ability to share important memories of their lives with their children. This helps keep their traditions, knowledge, and dedication to Rosali and Mordred alive. Aztec/Mayan-inspired clothing. Glass jewelry and such.
