Ebon Bazaar

In the heart of the Subtide Nexus, beneath the very western end of Rasharan, The Ebon Axes operate a large black market. The Ebon Bazaar consists of the market itself, as well as several large taverns and inns and administrative buildings for Axe operatives.
When visitors aren't buying or selling goods, they can relax at Felicity's Chambers of Amusement, a multi-level house of pleasure, offering Temshai's largest casino, a lounge for clientele partaking in kress, a large brothel, and various other legal and illicit pursuits. The owner, Felicity Lothis, is a lithe twilight elf, loyal to the Ebon Axes and paying a cut of her profits in exchange for being able to keep her business operating. The Chambers are watched over by Felicity's own hand-picked twilight elf guards, who both provide a more pleasing aesthetic than the kenku who guard the rest of the Bazaar and are more capable at keeping Felicity informed of any goings on in the Chambers and Bazaar as a whole.
Security in the Bazaar is both tight and lax. The Ebon Axes need to ensure the integrity of their businesses; clientele won't come to the market if they feel they're unsafe. The kenku guards check the identities of visitors. They can be found in every location in the Bazaar, keeping the denizens safe and protecting the Axes' interests above all. At the same time, they won't intervene if fights break out between rowdy patrons in a tavern, as long as the combat doesn't put the establishment at risk. Many illicit deals are agreed upon in the Bazaar, and many crimes are plotted, with the Axes turning a blind eye to anything that doesn't interfere with their own pursuits.
In recent years, the existence of The Windward Serpent, a traveling black market on an airship, has taken away a sizeable amount of profits from the Ebon Bazaar, as approved clientele find it much easier to board the airship than to journey through the Subtide Nexus. Ebon Axe leadership is always looking for information about who operates the Serpent and how they can be stopped.
