Dun Modaz

Dun Modaz is a dwarven city of shipwrights, seafarers, and explorers. Following the Modaz Trail north from Dun Dural and the Dural Lift, the Coastal Dwarves who settled here painstakingly cleared away the side of the mountain around a deep bay, enabling their town to have shelter on some sides. The Bay of Modaz is deep enough for large ships and forms a natural harbour around which the shipwrights ply their craft.   The whole town is focused on the sea. Some residents fish from their boats, some cross the Sea of Shards regularly to trade with the southern continents, and those who don't sail or build ships support those who do.   The Society of Seekers has a headquarters in Dun Modaz. Employing magic to duplicate the maps they produce, they make a good profit from adventurers and other entrepreneurs looking to settle or develop new parts of Temshai. Veteran explorers can often be found swapping tales in the Compass and Curio, an inn and tavern filled with relics and decor from all over Temshai.
