Fastar

Written by Vertixico

I can without a doubt say that I am very happy not to live on the continent of Fastar. To be fair, most people who are unfortunate enough to be born in this icy continent also wish they were somewhere else. Maybe that's why they wage so many wars outside their lands.

The continent of Fastar is the smallest of all six continents on Noumia as well as the furthest south. As such, it sits completely in a polar region.

While not sitting directly on tectonic plates, some collisions millennia ago caused a moderately sized mountain ridge to rise and divide the continent into two parts. Where the western area is covered in huge icy plains the eastern part is riddled with deep canyons. The mountains show no volcanic activity, yet many earthquakes hit the lands frequently.

The lands and especially the mountain ranges are rich in many metals, which prompted several colonies forming on the continent. Over the years, these have declared their independence from their colonial masters and formed two medium-sized nations, as well as a few smaller states on Fastar. They use the mined materials both for trades and equipping strong fleets.

Despite the seas to the north, east and south being very wild, the region of Faster is rarely plagued by strong storms or any extreme weather. This tiny continent sits completely within a Polar region. This odd weather pattern has allowed for some resilient and odd flora and fauna to develop here, which in turn were a role model for the usually warm-climate-affine Qiphril on how to survive in the cold areas of Fastar.
