Goblin Extermination
After spending time in Zion's public library, Ned, Kahgaz, and Sutha found the job board in the town square. As they perused some of the listings, they decided to take on the task of clearing a nearby mine shaft of goblins and bringing back the head of their leader as proof. The head of the Merchant's Guild, Lucille Stonecarver, got Ned's attention and gave him the full run-down of the task at hand. A disused mine shaft not too far south of Zion had become a hideout for a band of goblins that recently became too bold, stopping every shipment into Zion from further south for the past three months. In exchange for killing them and taking their leader's head, Lucille promised to pay the party 1,500 GP as well as give them a note that would secure them discounts with every seller affiliated with the Guild in Zion.
The party traveled to the mine without issue and, once inside, Ned quickly disarmed the traps the goblins had set against meddling adventurers. They quickly cleared out the first chamber of goblins, and split up to take care of the rest. Bellum and Ned took on a small group of goblins while Sutha and Fractal headed to the chambers of the leader, Bree-yark. Kahgaz found a stray goblin cowering in one of the halls and intimidated him into leading him to the boss. After defeating all of the hostile goblins, Kahgaz sent the cowering goblin, now named "Grot", back to one of the unexplored chambers to search for loot, where he was quietly mercy-killed by Ned.
After gathering what they could from Bree-yark's chambers, the party was forced to flee, as the mine began to collapse around them in the aftermath of a Thunderwave spell from Bellum. They managed to escape without any casualties, and took a few minutes to identify what they had found in the mine. They found themselves with a considerable sum of coins, a spell scroll of Aid and a spell scroll of Life Transference, a potion of Water Breathing, and a potion of Hill Giant Strength.
They returned to Lucille, who happily gave them their reward as well as some information on their next intended venture, a bounty hunt posted for a mysterious winged creature on the outskirts of Zion.
