The Craysilt Garda

Law enforcement in Craysilt is a critical part of the city's underpinnings. Working under the tenet of "justice for all", the lauded City Guard are a highly trained group of individuals who come together for the common goal of the good of the city. These folks eat, drink, breathe and sleep to serve their fellows, most of them having gone so far as risking their very lives for the sake of an innocent.

That is not to say they are a dour lot! Far from it; they are as diverse a lot as any other gathering of people. But, they come together with the goal of the common good in mind.

Structure

Garda Officer→Sergeant→Lieutenant→Captain→Deputy Chief→Assistant Chief→Garda Chief

Each of the ranks is subdivided into several levels that reflect both seniority and merit. Additionally, there are awards and rewards for meritorious service, and for service above and beyond the norm.

Culture

The culture at the Garda is generally one of service and commitment. They weed out the bad eggs early; a legacy of the reign of Good King Justinian.

Public Agenda

To serve and protect the people of Craysilt, to the very best of their ability, day in and day out. They make sure to include the populace in many of their decisions, including a civilian consultant group which helps them to integrate into the community. The new chief of the Garda calls the model "community police work", and has garnered accolades from police organizations and civilian watchdog groups alike. Although, he does have his detractors amongst the constabulary, who view his ways as "soft" and "new fangled".
