Ophelia's Tack Item in Tellus | World Anvil

Ophelia's Tack

Displayed behind thick glass at a museum in Sgàineadh lowest level, is a set of tack and harness. It is displayed on saddle-stand made of a linseed-oiled white oak, polished to a mirror sheen. Soft and supple camel leather was used in its making, as the saddle is a perfect example of what equestrian scholars would call floating harness. Hand worked with whorls and serpentine patterns on the skirts, the same sinuous patterns become interspersed with desert lillies and mesquite flowers throughout the back housing, and a pair of stylized dragon wings stretch along the sides and back of the cantle, while a set of serpents eyes stare wryly from the front of the pommel swell. Not only made with precision and masterful care, the objects have been lovingly cared for, if well used. They are as stunning, and as useful, as they were the day they were created.

Ophelia's Tack

Tack and Harness (Light)

Legendary Conjuration Requires Attunement

This is a beautiful set of tack and harness; handworked and lovingly tooled with serpentine patterns. It is obviously a masterwork, and has been well worn with use, though meticulously oiled and cared for. It is made in an ancient style noted by historians of such things as floating harness; it in no way restricted the horse that wore it. It was made for the comfort of the rider during combat.   This set of tack was worn by Ophelia, the war horse mount of Sir Regnòm Raw, a trainee of Myra herself.   As everyone knows, the Tchamut of the Glass Sea are famous for their ghostly spirit mounts, companions that can be summoned and dismissed with a thought. Sir Regnòm Raw was very old fashioned, indeed, in that his mount Ophelia was just as much flesh-and-blood as he was.   Were a Tchamut to place this gear upon their spirit mount, that spirit mount would become a real warhorse, with the intelligence and telepathic abilities of a spirit mount.
