Utakar

home of the Wrought Maw

Utakar, the location of the sacred vulcano Wrought Maw, is the most sacred place to dwarven kind and in typical dwarven fashion, they have barricaded themselves on this island and made it their home. The Wrought Maw itself is a very deep crater with three giant shards protruding into the air, in addition to that there are three giant ravines willed with magma parting the entire continent. Crossing he ravines is no easy task, as the only established way is to use the mechanical structures the dwarfs have devised to transport groups of individuals across the streems of molten rock. The area around the Wrought Maw is an ash ridden landscape dominated by giant mushroom forests, wich constantly filter metal particles from the ground and process it to use them as some kind of armor, hence the name iron trees. The three main races present on this continent are of course the Dwarfs and Lizans . While the dwarfs are weary around the humans and their colonialism, they openly and willingly trade and converse with the lizans.

Geography

Being a rather small continent, Utakar is dominated by the giant vulcano wrought maw, wich is the point three giant, magmafilled ravines converge. From the focal point there are three giant shards jutting up into the sky almostsimulating a split vulcano.   Around the vulcano is a secondary crater landscape with nothing cavering it, but ash and mushrooms.   Outside the secondary crater is an almost circular arrangement of mountains, wich encompass the secondary crater and seperate it from the other wildlife of the continent.

Fauna & Flora

Utakar is most known for its interesting fungal forests, also called iron trees, as those mushrooms pull minerals and metals from the ground to support the giant fungal structures over the ground.   Also interesting are the ash oaks, wich are basically just grey oaks with a remarkable fascinating wood.   Other than that Utakar also houses various kinds of dragons, but most of them are no real threat to any settlement.

Natural Resources

The biggest or most covetet resource for the dwarves, besides the obvious minerals, are the giant shards of obsidian, wich refined is often called fire stone, as they deem it a religious and pure material.
