Vyzhivshiye
The primary collective of humans native to Stirge, the Vyshivshiye are a hearty people, built tough to withstand harsh winds and the beating sun of their new homeland. Much of their culture is deeply rooted in the scars of the Human civil war of millennia past, from the seafaring that allowed them to escape their treacherous arcane brethren, to the seething hatred of magic that still burns in the hearts of the most patriotic among their people. This nationalistic fervor and an eternal desire to best the humans who remain behind - now calling themselves Menschen - has led to the two nations clashing time and time again in the centuries since they recovered from that initial schism.
I care not where I came from; Stirge is my home now, its people my kin. Adversity shall only knock me down that I can stand up all the stronger when the winds cease. No sun, nor sea, nor spell, nor beast shall bare ill will towards my home whilst I still draw breath. And draw breath I shall, until the gods themselves tear it from me. I am Vyzhivshiye - I am a survivor.
These are the people who would most readily call themselves 'Stirgan' without any additional qualifiers or clarifications, and they reside largely in the south and southeastern reaches of the continent, in the Pylic desert, and along the mountains and coasts up along the northeast. This wide swath of land, which is generally known by its inhabitants as the 'Regency of Humanity', roughly stops along the shores of the mighty Granitsa river. The area beyond this river is typically left to the Lesok and the Voron, and the islands further to the northwest are considered home to the Bezumtsy, or 'Madmen', though the word they use for themselves is 'Zaselnik'.
