The Isles of Morvran Mist-Walker
The Great Meeting Point
The year is 200.I, and the dwarves of Ilian have just learned how to cross the oceans. At nearly the same exact time, an exodus of elves from Ithaca seeking Silvanus' promised land has begun. The dwarves went north, hoping to find gold and exotic gems. The elves journeyed east, searching for their enchanted forest, eventually settling in the Loquintian Glade. The dwarves came to find the Nerubian Desert, a harsh and unforgiving land rich with ore. And so the nation of Loquintia and The Nerubian Empire were founded.
Both sides were content with what they had for a long time. The Nerubians pushed further north and claimed the Buran Desert. The Loquintians pushed south and claimed the Isle of Corlan. But there came a time when they would discover each other at last, and in the year 412.I, they met in the Gibraltar Wood. Peaceful negotiations would have been impossible; the dwarves were too stubborn to cede control and the elves too arrogant. So they went to war, fighting for all of the middle-islands, from as far south as The Wildlands to the northern reaches of The Khazari Jungle.
For 38 years they warred with each other, until, in the year 450.I, a fleet of human ships from Lar Na Tire led by Morvran Mist-Walker came to The Isles as well. They drove their ships straight through the front lines of the war, fighting off both nations and claiming the middle-islands for themselves. The war continued, now with three sides, until the year 712.I, long after each nation's original leader had died, when the destruction had become too much for each nation to bear. The 300 Year Treaty was signed, which split The Isles so that the Nerubians could have all that lay in the east, the Loquintians all that lay in the west, and the Gibraltites all the middle-islands. In the coming centuries, there would be many more wars, but at that moment, there was finally peace, and so the Isles of Morvran Mist-Walker came to be.
Geography
The Isles are an incredibly large and varied place, though they are principally made up of four different biomes: to the north is the Khazari Jungle; to the east are the Nerubian and Buran Deserts; to the west are forested areas such as the Isle of Corlan; and all throughout, mountains loom over the shores of three different seas: the Great Sea, the Dead Sea, and the Murabi Sea.
Fauna & Flora
The most interesting flora and fauna in The Isles come for sure from the Khazari Jungle, though there are interesting specimens all throughout, especially within the Dead Mountains.
Natural Resources
The forests of the Isles provide high quality wood and game; the mountains and deserts provide iron, gold, and copper; the jungles bear rare herbs and flowers; and the oceans are rife with all sorts of marine life.
