Royal Navy of Gibraltar

Pride of Gibraltar

The Royal Navy of Gibraltar is the chief naval outfit protecting The Kingdom of Gibraltar from invading forces. They are stationed all throughout the kingdom, and are constantly patrolling and keeping other nations in check. Historically, their primary purpose has been to prevent or moderate passage of Nerubian ships to Loquintia and vice versa. It is the largest navy in The Isles of Morvran Mist-Walker, though it is small compared to navies such as those of Iontach or Gulchet.

Structure

Admiral

At the top of chain of the command in the Royal Navy is the Admiral. There is only one admiral, whose primary job is to confer with The Crown of Gibraltar on matters of strategy during wartime. The admiral is in control of the entire fleet, including how many ships are posted at any given location, how many ships should be patrolling the seas, and what should be done with the fleet in case of a national emergency.

Captains

are the second-highest ranking officials in the Royal Navy. Captains command large vessels such as triremes and galleys, and occasionally fleets of smaller vessels. Typically a captain will have 1000 men working under their command, including 10 captains. At any given time, there are at least 100 captains in the Royal Navy.

Commanders

serve below captains, and are in control of smaller vessels. Commanders are responsible for 99 soldiers, including 9 lieutenants who command a much smaller group.

Lieutenants

are the second-lowest rank in the Royal Navy, and command a small group of nine other men in combat. Lieutenants are men who have proven themselves to be excellent fighters and sailors, capable of making important decisions on a small scale.

Mariner

is the most basic rank of the Royal Navy. Mariners work in a group of 8 other mariners and 1 lieutenant. Anyone who graduates from a combat academy and passes their naval exam is awarded this rank.

Public Agenda

The Royal Navy of the Kingdom of Gibraltar swears to protect the nation from harm and to prevent war between its neighbours.

History

The Royal Navy was founded in 450.I as a means to separate the two warring nations of Loquintia and Nerubia. With their superior battle tactics, the Gibraltites were able to keep both nations at bay and used the Royal Navy to secure the middle-islands for themselves.
