His studies complete, Legerdemain ventures northwest and is attacked by an Elynthi patrol in the Southern Soulmeliti Forests. He fends them off with magic and decides to ally with the Soulmeliti in their conflict. With a mighty spell, he breaks the siege of Naz'Asketon. The Soulmeliti being to slaughter their cousins and ninety percent of them perish. Verazsuuth witnesses the battle and brands Legerdemain as the twelfth of the Pre-Ordained , "The Hand Which Forges Chaos."
