War College of Gartcha's Guide to Military Strategy

Divided into roughly two halves - the first on battlefield tactics and the second on campaign strategy - the Guide is near 500 pages of information that any officer worth his stripes needs to understand. The faculty of the War College of Gartcha who wrote the Guide over the span of a decade, between 652 and 662 AC, originally intended the work to be a definitive manual on both battlefield tactics and overall campaign strategy. With each tactic they included, however, they found themselves reaching into history for examples of how and why that tactic worked or failed. Similiarly, as they discussed matters of strategy - from those as mundane a managing supply lines to more complicated strategies about winning the hearts and minds of soldiers, history again became the canvas upon whith their painted their theories. As such, the manual is a much a work of historical analysis as it is a guide to military decision making and has, for nealry a century, been required reading for students during the academic portion of their time at the War College.
