With a hawk like nose and spiky black hair cut to emulate her captain's and idol's careless look, Mirin tries hard to hold her face in the same emotionless pose. Generally, she fails. Her expressions flitting from wide-eyed wonder to stark terror and then pure joy with several eye-blinks. For a young girl who recently escaped the drudgery of life in Warwick as merchant's daughter, who's prospects held little more than a loveless marriage, the challenge of serving in the Hinterlands elite trackers is more that she could dream.
As the newest member of the Riders, her comrades in arms mercilessly tease her about her skills on horseback, with bow and wielding a blade. While her skills may leave her at the bottom of the pile for the Riders, they far surpass the rest of the populace. Her riding, in particular, seems inspired, as it was the only skill she had practiced regularly before running away. She takes the teasing with as much good nature as any young recruit, gritting her teeth and drawing strength from it to continuously improve - something that seems likely given her physical and mental strength.
A young runaway from Warwick, she escaped the drudgeries of a loveless marriage for the adventures of the Hinterlands. As the youngest member of Gunther's Riders, she is still learning her craft. She idolizes Amelia Jasper, the Rider's captain.
