No one amongst the Eldorian would ever call a noble man or woman as "insignificant" but in the grand scheme of history Countess La Sonne was following just that trajectory. The reputed dark haired beauty had married well into a powerful Phelandrian family and, by her early twenties, had even borne two lovely daughters. At the time of her death, she was even pregnant with what the Count certainly hoped was a son. Sadly, masked brigands robbed her carriage, slaying both her guards and her noble self when they resisted. While this was tragic indeed for the Countess, it clearly changed her place in history.
As a result, Emperor Kern d'Uthar XI increased funding for the Sentinels and unleashed them upon the criminal elements of Karradone. Criminals of all sorts were brought to justice in the largest crackdown in the Empire's history.
Of course, the poor Countess's murderers were never captured, despite the Emperor's seemingly personal interest in the case. Rumors about the reason behind the Countess's visit to the City Palace and the father of her unborn child were also never substantiated - no matter how much the Empress pushed them.
