Gartchan Chapterhouse
While the Northwest Syndicate may operate in the shadows of Gartcha, clearly operating in the open is the Consortium of Writ and Weight. This guild, which is the largest trading house in Tarien, manages the transport and protection of over half of the ships legitimately sailing Tarien’s oceans. Not only is the Chapterhouse in Gartcha in charge of all the activities in the western region, it is, behind the houses in Grennig and Karradone, the largest in Tarien. The Consotium, which conducts a great amount of business in Gartcha, is primarily focused on Nerridian goods flowing through the city, as they are the most lucrative. The Consortium pays its respects to the Prince, including a hefty tax on all goods passing through the city. In return, they have driven almost all of the independent merchants out of business, giving Gartcha exceptionally standardized prices on most goods.
