Frances Chezonne

Yatian Architect

Laughed out of his native Karradone for his ideas concerning the open concepts behind his architecture - he favored the use of tall, columnar supports to create open air courtyards lined with the natural beauty of ferns and trees, Chezonne made his mark in the city of Yaty during its formative years. His trademark columns line the concentric circles of roadways that wrap around the city's famous hill. Along those roadways, the descendants of orange, fig, and olive trees that he planted, taking advantage of the warm, dry climate found in the city despite its more northerly latitude, still provide beauty and shade today. His greats feat of engineering, however, was construction of aqueducts that run into from the Wind Wall Mountains, carrying snowmelt into the city itself. Originally designed for the irrigation of crops within the city walls, Nerrid engineers have converted them into a source fresh water that is now piped into public wells and the homes of the wealthy. This "pliping," as the Nerrid call it, make Yaty one of the cleanest cities in the Inner Seas.
