From the imagination of the Imperial Legion after watching a Nerrid demonstration of Smoke Powder, engineers from the Nerrid Alliance have created a devastating weapon. The weapon looks vaguely like a crossbow handle with a horn mounted at its front. Loaded from the front with both stones and Smoke Powder, it fires the stones like a sling, with explosive force, a arki-blast can equip any soldier with a the skill to take down an armored or mounted warrior. Unfortunately, the weapon is in its infancy and is both expensive and faces some reliability challenges. It is not widely available, with most purchases requiring a custom order from Nerrid engineers in Gartcha.
Ammunition: The weapon fires small stones. A character may elect to purchase stones (1 sp per shot) that are specially milled for the weapon or, alternatively use stones found in the ground. Using non-milled stones increases the Misfire rate to 3. In addition, users must provide a pinch (/20th of a horn) worth of smoke powder.
