The Gildfens

Mist covered fens, this marshy land is thick mud and loam, with wild vegetation hiding all manner of regular swampland dangers. Sinkholes, algae covered ponds, quicksands, and more. But here is where the trees of Gild, the Gildfen trees grow. All throughout the fens these trees grow, which is where this region gets its name. These trees are highly prized and valued, carefully cared for by the Emerald Order, and the harvest of their leaves and bark is vital to the regions economy, and along with the variety of vibrant wild flowers that grow within the fens. However the deeper reaches of this place are a dark, mist covered, and dangerous place. Fell Fey stalk the shadows and skirt sinkholes, seeking fools and passerbys to tempt and trick and offer to their foul and fell god. Even the Magisters of the Emerald Order are careful not to go to far into the Gildfens, for fear they would never come out.
