Fell-Squirm

A thankfully rare, parasitic voidbeast, about the size of a grain of rice. Is a servant of Ignavia. These creatures are most dangerous because they are so small, both literally and in the Void. A magister is likely to not even register them unless they are exceedingly attentive and know what they are looking for.
Responsible for Icewater Plague symptoms, unbeknownst to all but the most learned of esoteric and heretical study, these creatures do not stop once the victim is dead. Then the real work begins.
Once dead, after a number of weeks, if the body was not burned (or at least its head and brain) the Fell-Squirms protective skin breaches, and the smallest of tears in reality occur, into the Abyss..some theorize directly into the essence of Ignavia itself. And pure rotting diseased ichor flows forth. Pustules form, harden like armor, their sticky fluid filled with a dozen or more contagions. The sludgy, slushy black bile that now pumps thro the creature allowing the Fell-Squirm an almost hydraulic control of the corpse is filled with tens of thousands of immature Fell Squirm, little white flecks, seemingly like salt grains in the chunky, slurry of bile blood. 
Fingers will stiffen, vicious hooked claws dripping with vitriol and other foul smelling fluids sprouting from them. The corpse will pull itself free of grave, tomb or otherwise and begin an endless shuffling hunt for fresh victims, its shuffling magically silent as the grave.

Genetics and Reproduction

This creature's 'reproduction' is well......mildly disturbing in that it basically uses the host corpse as a delievery system to try and release dozens of egg sacs into other living things biological systems. This is along with the fact it does this after technically 'dying' in the host corpse and opening a small tear in reality within the host body's brain, allowing these egg sacs through, and allowing a proper nightmare to take up residence in the corpse, albeit one not much more powerful and with relatively few abilities or 'powers'.

Dietary Needs and Habits

It does not need to eat, and as it is from the Void, needs no sleep either. This is not to say such a beast does not enjoy the taste or consumption of parts of its victims to a certain point. It has but one focus, one singular drive and habit. Hunt the living. It does require fresh victims to release its tainted blood and bile upon or in with regularity however, or the sheer volume of the stuff flowing forth from that tear in reality, the bile, ichor, pus and taint, along with the sheer volume of the egg sacks will cause it to swell like a ballon, and eventually, after two or three weeks, if somehow it still hasn't had fresh victims, it'll just explode like an over filled ballon, spreading its....tainted fluids and the thousands of egg sacks all over in about a ten meter radius
