Cybernetics
Cybernetics are a new invention. Originally designed as replacement limbs for wounded soldiers or people born with deformities, cybernetics started off as simple prosthetics. Prosthetic limbs now refer to older or less expensive style designs of cybernetics. People with prosthetics or cybernetics may gain bonus or penalty dice based on the people they interact with.
Cheap prosthetic limbs are clunky and usually manually powered or adjusted and aren't as dexterous or as agile as natural limbs. The less expensive models give a penalty to all tasks (1 or 2 setback dice depending on quality). The only exception to the setback on a cheap prosthetic is using a shield to block. More expensive prosthetic limbs include the most advanced designed clockwork gears and materials and have power stones embedded in them to help the user regain full range of motion. The best models have no penalties compared to natural limbs. Some may even have hidden compartments.
Cybernetics are the newest magitech prosthetics. They offer abilities above and beyond their organic counterparts, but are also more difficult to fuse to ones body, resulting in a reduced strain threshold. An ability or skill may never be improved beyond +1 due to cybernetics, no matter how many limbs or organs are replaced.
Manufacturing
Cheap prosthetics require no special materials. More advanced prosthetics and cybernetics require old Terran magitech relics.

Access & Availability
Low quality cybernetics with quirks and low mobility can be found, enabling even farmers to walk around again with a slow limp. Cybernetics that are equal to a standard limb are more expensive. Some rare cybernetics can improve physical or mental abilities beyond normal, though such items are highly coveted.
Discovery
While a wholly new invention, cybernetics do require a few Terran artifacts that haven't been reverse engineered yet.
