Power Stone
Power stones are similar to Blood Stone except that they do not require the user to be bonded. Power stones provide magical power to magitech items, though to a lesser and more limited degree than blood stones. Power stones act as a catalyst for magitech devices, converting ambient magical energy of its user into more practical forms.
The stones resemble precious stones, such as sapphires, diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and topaz, though they are typically the size of a coin.
Power stones have the advantages not requiring bonding to use, as blood stones, and each individual power stone costs less per blood stone.
There are limitations to using power stones over blood stones. First, power stones require more investment in Runesmithing to get them to function. Power stones are also permanently affixed to the item or device that they're manufactured in. Skin contact is required to activate magitech devices that are used with a power stone, though devices will function for roughly 10 seconds after the item is released as residual magical energy from the holder hangs around. Lastly, the options available for magitech items are more limited and are generally weaker.
