Potamon Bay, Island Wyvern Sea
Potamon bay is one of the busiest ports in the Wyvern Sea. A large open bay makes traveling into the city and docking easy and safe. The high walls of mountains and hills surrounding the bay make it a safe harbor during large storms. The docks are all a dark mahogany type of wood and split off into multiple directions all abutting the coastline in front of the city. Built and rebuilt over hundreds of years it is plain to see that there was no plan in place for port design. All manner of ships can be seen floating together in a haphazard mess. Shipping vessels, warships, galleys, junks and small skiffs all jumble together and have styling from all over the world. Even a few heavy dragon born vessels can be seen, bristling with ballista and cannons. Hulls painted black or red and their sails very square and multi layered.
The City itself is made up of hundreds of squat wooden buildings and large white walled stone buildings. Some of the buildings are stacked on each other as the city built up and the harbor side sits a little flatter as you reach the docks. To the Southwest the buildings begin to rise up the hills going back to the small mountain range in the distance. The streets are all different widths and criss cross each other many times. There are very few street names which makes navigation difficult for new comers. The locals all refer to things by landmarks and colored buildings.

History
Potamon bay exists outside of the normal Tellenheim political structure of large city states that are loosely tied together by commerce. It has a large supply of fresh water in it's many lakes and small ponds on the island and small farming communities live inland and supply the city with fruits and vegetables. Their diet consists mostly of fish and rice and they have a penchant for simmered fruit. A nice supply of homegrown sugar exists as well and makes for excellent rum. The island was settled 1500 years ago by explorers and pirates who left their home countries for various reasons. They formed a loose conglomeration of towns who eventually interbred and created a more integrated society. Over the last 300 years the towns became a city built on the large bay central to the island. Now it acts as a shipping hub and a neutral island for citizens of Tellenheim, Ventenheim and Dragon Mouth. It is one of the few areas in all of Tanaheim where Dragon Born can be seen wandering the streets and very few people are agog.
