Insidious Beguiling

An Illithid resides in the underground of Stoneport. An Alhoon (Volo’s Guide) who has broken off from his collective for using magic. He monitors all the goings on of the city through informants and small hovering creatures. Once Mew enters the city her psionic powers alert any creatures who seek out psychic energy. Either by a flare of light on the psychic plane or a wave of feeling. Insidious feels a delicious opportunity. Her energy would feed him for a decade or he could turn her and use her to his own ends all the while feeding on her powers. He begins a plan to lure her into the underground. He starts by sending out intellect devourers to attack her. Next he sets up a fake Abyssal Knife meeting underground and then attacks her with a larger creature.
One of the Illithid’s conquests is a drow couple who have had their minds wiped. They sit in large thrones drooling and staring forward. It does allow Beguiling to control a Draegaloth
