Atmos

Written by CrazyJack

The Atmos herb is a common plant found throughout the jungles and swamps of Mirkireth, and is used in a variety of activities such as cooking, healing, rituals and as lucky charms. The plant takes the form of balls or vines made of twisting roots, stalks, leaves and flowers, all of which glow with a green and yellow hue. It can grow in a variety of places, although is less frequent and struggles in environments which see little sunlight. As such, it can be most commonly found growing on the surface of the water of the great number of rivers and lakes in Mirkireth, as well as in the vast canopies. The herb reproduces through pollination from insects.   The herb is used most commonly in cooking, for its pleasant flavour, which is the staple for many dishes in the Paédor diet. The herb is also sought after outside of Mirkireth and is considered a delicacy. The Atmos herb is also used in some Paédor rituals as a piece of adornment to represent the natural world, and is a symbol of life and fertility, some Paédor and Humans also hang the herb in their homes as a lucky charm, believed to bring fortune to those who live under the same roof. The herb is often ground into a paste and used as a healing salve, although its restorative capabilities are doubted by many scholars outside of Mirkireth.
