Session 4: Pook Pokes Around Report

General Summary

Pook woke up in the early afternoon of the 28th of Raindays and headed downstairs. Gerf , Suds and a few customers are in the Common Room. Pook headed over to his spot by the fireplace and started setting up. Gerf, approached, apologized for not getting up and asked how things went with the creature. Pook updated him on what happened, and while a little incredulous, Gerf accepted the story and asked Pook his plan. Pook continued with his evening. He ran a plan to catch the boggle past Gammy Furfoot who agreed with it and even suggested using an old dog cage from down in the basement store room.
Pook decided to go down stairs and look for more creatures. Salva Ablework discussed going downstairs with Pook and advised him to take a light. Pook thanked her and forged ahead into the darkness. First exploring the storeroom, through the west door at the bottom of the stairs, Pook found the cage that Gammy had mentioned. It was buried in a corner among all the junk seemed to have been abandoned in the old storeroom. Continuing to explore, Pook found footprints in the dust and accidentally set off a trap of tumbling crates and boxes that fell on him, but didn't hurt too badly. In the corner of the room, Pook found a hole in the wall hidden behind a box. Looking into it, he could see a tunnel that went a few feet and turned. It was a little small for Pook to fit into. So, he put the dog cage in front of the entrance to the tunnel and headed to check out the other room in the basement.
In the other room, he found a more organized pantry with food and beer barrels. Before getting very far into the room, Salva came in to check on Pook and threaten him for being sneaky. Pook finally got her to leave and then continued his investigation. In the back he found another tunnel, also protected by a tripwire trap of stacked beer barrels. He got on his hands and knees and squirmed into the little tunnel.
A half a dozen feet into the tunnel, it turned sharply and peeking around the corner Pook saw the mite peeking back at him. It said something and then stepped out of sight. Pook cast Dissonant Whispers on the creature as it retreated. It let out a brief cry and was silent. After digging out the turn in the tunnel enough to crawl around it, Pook made it into a little chamber where the mite seemed to be living. The wind chimes were nowhere to be found, but the mite did have a very nice dagger and seven gold pieces.
Leaving the basement, Pook took the dead mite to Gammy's office where he left it for the rest of the evening.
