Islandholme / Dag Boram

Arising from the depths within the The Grey Fissure around the middle of 785, Islandholme as it is now called was once a great dwarven city lost long ago.

History

Some of the Everliving remember Dag Boram  as a great stronghold of the dwarven people nestled deep within the southern Daggermaw mountains. Around the same time as the destruction of Paloria it is said great quakes rocked some of the deeper cities of the Dwarven people. Dag Boram was one of these and so was abandoned for safety. Not long after abandonment, the caverns caved in and the city was believed lost to the world.   In the middle of 785 this massive city just arises up out of the depths. A few fisher folks were the only folk to witness it.  (Taken from a verbal reporting to the Horath Assembly:
Haron Kilner: There we were, just wetting some lines, oh we had a net out too. Netting is always a good way to catch. Oh sorry, Yeah so there we were and suddenly the water on the horizon started to boil. Not like boil hot, just huge bubbles and these big waves start rolling towards us. Got to be honest I thought it was just a massive Eilandgrootte surfacing, we get a lot of those here. But no it wasn't, first thing I saw that made me take notice was that tall spire on top, she just rocketed up out of the water like a shark breaching for seals. The rest of the city was soon after. Took no more than a few hours and we had that whole Island to look at!

Modern Day

Islandholme has been inhabited for several hundred years now by the occasional vagrant or people running from the law. It's a bit of a lawless wonderland. The dwarves want nothing to do with it and call it cursed, which is fine by those that like it out there. It's a beautiful city to explore and those that choose to live there eke out an existence showing people about the place or by less savory means.    The harbour and a few streets back are all that is properly inhabited on the island.   The population of the city is unknown.   Trade   Illegal stuff, thinks pirates.
Things to do:
  • Be a pirate for a day.
  • Go exploring.
  • Hire a guide to go deeper.
  • Gamble at the Broken Tooth.
