Dwarven Tyranny

The Dwarven Tyranny was the successor to the Sumerian Star Empire. It came into being during a period of internal disunity among the Sumerian elite. The dwarves, who had up until then lived in relative isolation beneath the surface of Nabu, capitalized on this weakness to overthrow the Empire. Their leader, the self styled Burning Tyrant Loghaire, ushered in a considerably more totalitarian period for An-Shar in which the new empire assumed direct control over the former client states.
The Tyranny had no mechanism for renewal, and when Loghaire died, it quickly fragmented.
