The Ruin of Edrian

Thaeonnesis, who escaped after his puppet King Aaron fell, is stopped just in time from shattering the world. Despite his efforts being thwarted, The Betrayer still manages to utterly destroy the one-towering city of Edrian.

What the war did not destroy, Thaeonnesis did in his final act. Cornered by his pursuers, he tries to destroy the entire world in an attempt to be the single soul to flee it. A small band of heroes is able to interrupt him at the last moment, but they are not able to fully contain the effects of his magic. His dimension-splitting ritual shatters the land around Edrian, collapsing the castle and dropping much of the city into the deep tunnels that run beneath it. Some of the city doesn't even get the chance to fall into the depths. It is instead torn from the dimension entirely or twisted in on itself.   Fortunately, many of the residents of Edrian have already left the city. Few who are present during the ruin of Edrian survive to tell of the horrible event. Exiting the city is exceedingly difficult as the mountain pass to Jasper also collapses.
