Eletar's Encyclopedia of Champions

This seven-volume set chronicles the lives and adventures of "Champions"; those devout souls who pledge themselves to deific beings and serve as their agents in the mortal world.   The scholar Eletar published the first, originally unnumbered, volume a short century before Til-Gathien Wars and thus featured no human champions. Later volumes expanded on the agents of a broadening pantheon, with volume four focused almost entirely on the "mislead"; champions of troublesome god and evil spirits.   The Encyclopedia of Champions is well regarded for Eletar's extensive research, but modern era scholars criticize it for blatant bias.   First editions can be found at the library of Ventaine Academy, where Eletar taught during most of the work's development. The school also holds Eletar's original notes in its extensive archive. Unfortunately, the Academy's copy of book four is heavily damaged, though untouched copies can be found in other libraries.
