Stonesong
A melodic, tonal language used by stone giants in ages past, stonesong has not been preserved in any significant way. Nevertheless, it is something of a fascination with a particular breed of adventurers, scholars, archeologists, and mages. Many believe that stonesong is an inherantly magical language, though in what way this magic manifests is a topic of considerable debate.
Those who do study the scraps of stonesong that have survived agree on one thing: like Runic, the language is incredibly complex with longer "songs" carrying exponentially more information as each successive note and bar adjusts the context and meaning of those that came before. In this way, listening to a part of any given stonesong is not enough to divine part of it's meaning, though if one can translate it they may be able to isolate specific elements and terms.
In the Campaign:
- While splunking in Earthdrop Mines, Merjan Kalila heard the stonesong that he later learned from Sesi means "welcome" emminating from an unseen source
- One of the four standing stones in The Cave of Confluence seemed to respond very slightly to Merjan playing the "welcome" song
- Yesno appears to respond to those who sing or play him the tune for "welcome"
