Giants

A collection of species that used to rule much of the known world as the Empire of Ostoria until roughly ~1,200 years before the present age.
They were divided by a caste system with six tiers. From highest to lowest prestige were:

1. Storm Giants
2. Stone Giants
3. Cloud Giants
4. Fire Giants
5. Frost Giants
6. Hill Giants

Particularly since so many of their records were destroyed by the dragons after the collapse of Ostoria, information on the giants is sparse and unreliable. Many modern scholars refute the ordering of castes listed above, with some argueing that stone giants existed outside the caste system, others insisting that hill giants were not seen as "true giants" and were thus closer in equivalency to ogres and ettins, and still others making the case that the castes were more symbolic than legally-binding.
