Runic

The language used by the giants in ages past, little remains of this elaborate writing system and even the most specialized modern scholars admit to great gaps in their knowledge.
As opposed to going left-to-right or up-to-down, runic writing involves combining the lines of individual runes in often original and creative ways, expanding a "clause" in any and all directions with the resulting concept communicated relying not only on the meanings of its composite runes, but their specific spatial relationships with each other.
There exists disagreement among scholars as to whether there was ever a spoken form of runic, for if there was, it has not survived to this day. Proponents of this theory point to the lack of any other obvious spoken language, while detractors suggest that something like Stonesong  might have been used, and question how such a spatial language could ever be orally transmitted.
While there is evidence for all true giant species using runic, disagreement still exists as to whether it was originally created by stone giants, storm giants, or cloud giants.
