Liege of Legions Peithemos (a.k.a. The Returned)
Peithemos is the fifth child of Tai'San and Rinushka, a Princes of the Dawn and one of the proto-Elves of the world.
They are the first and only anthropomorphic proto-elf, showing insectlike characteristics.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Because of their reincarnation, Peithemos form is not a constant. The few things that stay common are a sharp nose, and their compound eyes, which stay the same throughout different forms.
Body Features
Peithemos body changes with each generation, sometimes with intent behind their capabilities.
A body usually has two legs and four arms, two antenna emerging from the hair and a black or colored carapace over white leathery skin.
Facial Features
Peithemos black compound eyes form a roughly hexagonal shape and are surrounded by contrasting white carapace. Their hair varies in form, colour and length, but always strongly contrast the carapace colour. Their ears are of varying shape throughout the reincarnations.
Special abilities
Peithemos unique ability is their reincarnation. Whenever their body dies, they are carried by their people to a special chamber. After a period that can range from a day to multiple years, a new form emerges to resume their reign.
Like all other Princes of the Dawn, Peithemos has the ability to sustain a Meld among their people, although the Meld of Peithemos goes further than others. In it, the members of the hive can actually start to lose their individuality, which is why Peithemos needs to take down the Meld for a couple weeks per year.
Apparel & Accessories
Peithemos usually does not wear any equipment or clothing except for something covering their modesty. In battle they use a spear, just like any other of the Hive and usually form the head of a phalanx.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Peithemos was unfortunately stillborn, never taking their first breath. Dark was the mood that day in the Hearth and ever more joyous it was when on the next morning, Peithemos was reborn for the first time.
Gender Identity
Peithemos sexuality changes from one reincarnation to the other. Most of the time, they consider themselves nonbinary, somewhere between man and woman, but occasionally, one reincarnation presents as and considers themselves as clearly one or the other.
Sexuality
Peithemos sexuality is as fluid as their gender. One reincarnation may be attracted to men, women, both or neither with no correlation between sexuality and own gender.
Like all Princes of the Dawn, Peithemos is content with their sexuality. It does not occur to them that you might not be.
Intellectual Characteristics
Peithemos is a person of extreme emotional intelligence. They can instinctively grasp complex social interactions, judge peoples intentions and leverage that to their advantage. In the past many different people came as ambassadors or negotiators to the hive and each one left with a deal far worse than they ever dreamt of agreeing to.
Morality & Philosophy
Peithemos does not truly consider themself to be an individuum. They are themselves, but they are also all of their children and descendants. As a result Peithemos puts the collective first, even to the detriment of their own body. No one is greater than the hive.
This does, however not mean that they do not act in their own self interest. The hive is strong with Peithemos at the top and they carefully and ruthlessly ensure that this fact stays constant, no matter what.
