In order to qualify for the position of professor, one must maintain a high level of academic performance in their chosen field of study as a student. Additionally, prospective professors must complete a term of study under a more senior professor in their field. In fields of study that focus on magic (either on its own or as a component), a strong ability to use magic is considered to be an asset.
