The Dwarves are a race of short and stout humanoids who've made their homes in and around the mountains of northern Imera. Once the rulers of a mighty empire that encompassed most of the Dark Hollows, most of the Dwarven race have since been driven up to the surface following the collapse of their empire. Despite this loss, the Dwarves still remain an influential race in Taeva, thanks to their unbreakable resolve, their skill in the art of smithing and crafting, and being one of the few races capable of using Runic Magic.

Dwarvish clothing is made to be tough, and has a simple, utilitarian design. The clothing of Dwarves of a higher social standing is a bit more lavish, often embellished with gold and precious stones.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

The Dwarves place great value on legacy, with almost every Dwarf striving to accomplish something in their life that others would remember them for. Many of the greatest works of Dwarvish architecture, smithing, and stonecraft were the result of this desire. This also ties into the second aspect of Dwarvish culture; Their habit of pouring their all into whatever task they're set to. For the Dwarves, anything that's worth doing should be given nothing less than their absolute best.

Additionally, the Dwarves greatly value openness and honesty among each other, believing a person's only as good as their word. In fact, breaking a vow is considered a serious offence in Dwarvish culture.

The Dwarves maintain good relations with the Humans and their allies, but are wary of the Elves. Additionally, while the Dwarves are largely indifferent to the other races that inhabit the Dark Hollows, they do have a strong mutual animosity towards the Goblins, owing to the events of the Fall of Duridar, a feeling which hasn't diminished in the slightest over the centuries.
