Faerie
The Fae Realm is home to a variety of strange and wonderous creatures. Among these inhabitants, however, none are more widespread and recognisable than the Faeries. Found all throughout the various regions of the Fae Realm, as well as appearing in various places throughout the Mortal Realm, these small winged humanoids have long captured the fascination and imagination of the mortal races of Taeva.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Faeries resemble small humanoids with pointed, Elf-like ears, slight bhysiques, and insictile wings commonly resembling those of butterflies.
Biological Traits
Faeries vary greatly in appearance based on whatever environment they're found in or what magic they're most exposed to (e.g. Faeries directly serving the Summer Court possess bee-like traits similar to the High Fae who rule the court, while Faeries found around the Silverlight Isles have traits similar to moths and the Moon Elves).
Genetics and Reproduction
Faeries don't reproduce like mortals, instead being formed entirely from the Aether of the Fae Realm.
Ecology and Habitats
Faeries prefer places with high levels of Aether, with a preference for more wild places.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Being creatures of pure magic, Faeries don't need to eat, though many still do for enjoyment, with a particular focus on sweet-tasting foods.
Behaviour
Faeries are beholden to the same values and behaviours that define the Fae as a whole, including the inability to understand mortality, the inability to directly lie, and heightened emotional responses compared to Mortals. However, among the Fae, Faeries are known for being especially mischievious, being responsible for most of the "pranks" inflicted by the Fae on Mortals. They also seem to be the most interested in Mortals among the Fae, with some Faeries even serving alongside mages as familiars.
Additional Information
Facial characteristics
Faeries have faces similar to those of Elves, complete with pointed ears.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Faeries are native to the Fae Real, though those who venture into the Mortal Realm tend to favour places of unspoiled nature and/or high levels of Aether.
Average Intelligence
Faeries, despite their mischievious personalities, are highly intelligent, and are innately skilled in the usage of Fae Magic, with a particular focus on illusion magic.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Besides having physical sensory abilities slightly above that of most mortals, Faeries also have a keen ability to sense Aether in their surroundings.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Faerie names tend to be melodic. Additionally, some Faeries (particularly those who've spent alot of time around Mortals) go by nicknames, usually based on small plants.
Names: Tiva, Fasi, Mida, Cynne, Nana, Auri, Galai, Yna, Pengiah, Vali

Common Dress Code
Faerie clothing is typically light and airy, and often made from natural materials such as leaves, though there are some variations based on their specific environment.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
As with all denizens of the Fae Realm, the Mortal Races are wary of dealing with Faeries, due to their mischievious and unpredictable nature. Fortunately, Faeries are not actively malicious towards those who haven't done anything to antagonize them, and some have even been known to be helpful towards those who've earned their trust. Alongside Gnomes, Faeries are generally well-regarded even in spite of their mercurial temperment, though Mortals who interact with them are still careful not to offend them in any way.
