Karalile

Karalile is the largest Zel city on the coast of the Tranquil Expanse. Though it is far smaller than the cities on the Mirror River, its location near to the forests of Orbico makes it the prime shipyard on the eastern side of the country. In addition to building ships to supply the kingdom of Zel, it is also the origin of two major land trade roads: one leading into both Aglas and Orbico while the other going north into Zel to the city of Nij'tak.

The SkyBridge of Karalile is oriented in a east/west direction. The west bridge end is the origin of the trade road leading to Aglas and Orbico. The east bridge end leads to both the port and the trade road further into Zel.

Primarily Ahsness, though Danlae frequently stop in the town for a day or two at a time.

Infrastructure

The heart of the city is located on a large SkyLand with the remainder of the city sprawls out below and around the SkyBridge.

There are two springs on the SkyLand of Karalile, one fairly close to each of the bridges. Water is channeled through half of the town and down the corresponding bridge to supply the farms and establishments on the SkyBridge.

Districts

Skyland - The heart of the city, the SkyLand is where the Count or Countess makes their home with their family. In addition, there are government buildings, guilds, shops and homes.

SkyBridge - The lower portion of the southeast SkyBridge is filled with places to buy food and drink. There are also inns located here for the convenience of travelers. Most of the rest of the SkyBridge is filled with homes for the shipbuilders and farms for the production of vegetables and fruit for the city.

Bridge Ends - At each bridge end, there are shops selling wares to travelers. There are also guards present to keep the peace.

Under Bridge - Traders and trade caravans gather and organize under the bridges in Karalile. There are numerous warehouses here as well as areas for animals, etc. There are also guard houses and guards located under the bridges. Finally, there are workshops where rope is manufactured located here.

The city of Karalile is located in the Firefly Swamp on the coast of the Tranquil Expanse about 4 miles (6 km) from the mouth of the Lilypad River.
