Personal history

Witnessing a superhero in action can be a memory you'll have for the rest of your life. It can also be lethal depending on where your standing. For Gemma, she learned that lesson the hard way, she nearly died being a bystander. Gemma was out in the boonies with some friends drinking when Sheila came crashing down hard. Sheila was dazed and didn't see Gemma running towards her as she took off in the air.


The blowback from Sheila's takeoff threw Gemma about 15 feet, landing right into a gympie-gympie plant. The instant she landed onto the plant she passed out from the pain. Only to wake up in even more pain, it lasted for months. She writhed in pain, screaming till her lungs bled, she collapsed or was sedated. The pain would thankfully trigger her latent Nola Gene, which absorbed the toxin.


The disregard for her pain, the months of torture, and no acknowledgement. She hated Sheila, and wanted to put her in the same position in that hospital. So she tried to get her attention by attacking people, waiting for her to rescue them so she could throttle her.
