Well-Dressed Carrots

The town of Toralvitch is noted for its cloth, its association with the Academics Club, and for their weird dessert that's not actually made of carrots. Carrots don't actually grow all that well in Toralvitch, and they live too far away from other places to be able to ship them in easily. What they do have usually goes to the animals who grow the fibers that they use for their fabrics.   So instead, they bake something like a breadstick in the shape of a carrot, make a bird's nest noodle thingamajig instead of the carrot greens, and then they dress the carrot. It's a bit crunchy, but the inside is super light and fluffy.   There's a particular kind of sugar that they can produce that spins into a very particular kind of sticky thread. They then weave this thread, or otherwise work it into cloth, and then with the assistance of some water, they shape it into clothing by means of dissolving and sticking. The clothes go on the carrot, and then you scarf down the whole thing.   This very much does not work in a warm climate because it all melts. And it wouldn't work in a much colder climate because then they wouldn't be able to get the material warm enough to make it malleable. They don't ship well, and they can look kind of like creepy little dolls so they're not super popular elsewhere. You can only find them in Toralvitch, or occasionally in the carefully climate controlled kitchen of an expat.   Traditionally, this is rather painstaking to make, and heavily personalized. It's kind of like a 3D gingerbread man. They're very much a treat, always homemade, and usually as a family or group activity.
