Chamrith Character in Sundered Lands | World Anvil

Chamrith

The female blue dragon Chamrith made her lair in the Dragon's Tooth Mountains in 599 AS, quickly establishing a stranglehold on the region. She exacted tribute from settlements in the area and demanded tolls from the caravans which she did not destroy in her hunger and search for valuables.   After two decades of Chamrith pillaging the area, the Durpari recruited adventurers to lead a small army of Lancers in hunting her down. They eventually succeeded, but her lair was never found.

Personal history

Chamrith was a wizard in the Drylands obsessed with the idea of immortality as a Mage Dragon. She spent decades researching and preparing, finally making the attempt to transfer her consciousness into a feral blue dragon just after she turned eighty years old. The attempt was mostly successful: although she conquered the dragon's will and was able to become the dragon, she did not gain all of the power she had hoped, and some of the dragon's instincts and urges still remained. Knowing that she did not have sufficient strength to forcibly make a place for herself in Draconia, she chose instead to remain in the region she knew.   Deciding that the crater within the Dustwall would make an ideal place to safely locate a lair, she explored the area, settling on the Dragon's Tooth Mountains as a suitable nesting site. It was within easy flying distance of the Drylands, while remaining inaccessible to any who may try to attack her.   Over the next few years, the flaws in Chamrith's conversion became steadily worse, as her mind gradually became dominated more and more by the dragon's instincts, and she became a greater threat to the region.
