Wild Elves

The Wild Elves who call themselves Vylasch'aīd, the "People of the Spirit Forest", are a disparate and widely dispersed species of elves descended from Sumraki-Ashaī who, after their people's descend into the Deeplands many millenia ago, divorced themselves from the society built by those worshipping the Goddess Serkatha who would later found Styx or the Kingdom of Darklight and the Duchy of Sharhaven and instead settled within the Leshivoi Forest adopting the Eldest Faith and thereby becoming part of the diverse cultural groups encompassed within the Forestfolk.

The Vylasch'aīd look similar to their far-flung cousins that live in the City State of Styx with the same lean and graceful physiology, fine facial features and pointed ears but are, most often, more physically fit and a bit broader built than the Sumraki-Ashaī due to their forest-dwelling lifestyle (and some say their intermingling with the other species of the Leshivoi Forest).

They also tend to have skin colors more similar to the soil of the Leshivoi Forest than the greyscale of their City-dwelling cousins and their hair colors are said to be very diverse, more similar to the hair of the Sattal riderfolk than of true elves with shades of brown, pale and even ginger being common in addition to black.

Wild Elves form many of the countless tribes and clans of the Forestfolk and additionally are among those who most commonly join mixed-species tribes or clans.

To the people of Styx and its neighboring nations the Vylasch'aīd are a terrifying mirror image of themselves bathed in all that they fear about the dreaded Leshivoi Forest.
They are said to commonly file their canine teeth to sharp points as well as decorate their faces and bodies with tattoos to embody the animalistic traits of the spirits and the Eldest Gods that they worship.
