Ihitha
Ihitha is the land of the nephirs. Mountain ranges, forests, and open plains shape its landscape, with civilization scattered throughout each region. The great clans claim and rule their own territories, each dominating a section of the realm. Though a grand capital city stands at its heart, Ihitha rarely welcomes outsiders — only those of proven prestige or purpose are ever invited within its borders.
Geography
Ihitha’s terrain reflects its people — divided yet enduring. In the northeast, a vast mountain range rises like a wall of black stone, hollowed with fortresses and caverns carved by the oldest clans. From its base, a sprawling forest stretches south and east, its canopy thick enough to drown the light. A second forest claims the western edge of the region, wild and untamed, serving as both barrier and refuge for those who dwell near the borderlands.
Between these dark woods lie broad plains and fertile fields, where smaller settlements and farms sustain the realm’s population. Rivers wind through the land, silver-lit and deep, uniting the scattered territories beneath the same pale reflection of the moon.
Ecosystem Cycles
Ihitha follows the slow rhythm of four distinct seasons, though its twilight skies make each shift feel subdued. Spring arrives quietly, marked by rivers swelling with snowmelt from the northern range. Summer brings brief warmth, when mist rolls off the forests and the veil glows faint gold. Autumn deepens the land’s color — crimson leaves, pale moonlight — before winter settles in with long nights and frozen plains. The cycle moves steadily, patient as the nephirs who call it home.
Localized Phenomena
A natural veil shrouds most of Ihitha, softening sunlight into a constant dusk. The phenomenon is unique to Eqexus and has no known origin or cause. Within its reach, the moon and stars remain visible even at midday, casting the land in silvery light. The veil grows thinner toward the southern border, where true daylight touches the farmlands, but its presence defines the nephir homeland—an ever-present twilight that never fully fades.
Climate
Ihitha lies within the temperate belt of Eqexus, experiencing all four seasons in slow, balanced shifts. A natural atmospheric veil hangs over most of the region, dimming sunlight into a constant dusk. The northern and eastern lands remain bathed in twilight year-round, while the southern borderlands receive true daylight, allowing limited farming and human habitation. The air is cool and dry through much of the year, with long winters and gentle, mist-heavy summers.
Fauna & Flora
Velith Lace
A poisonous lily native to Eqexus, known for its white petals laced with soft lavender swirls and a faint silver glimmer that catches the light. The color deepens toward the base, forming a gradient of violet that meets crimson-red stamens at its heart. Though admired for its beauty, the Velith Lace carries a potent toxin called velit. Even small amounts can cause illness if consumed, although most nephirs are tolerant to it. Nephirs, who often eat flowers as light nourishment, avoid this one entirely — those who have tried describe it as tasting like poison. The flower grows naturally in Ihitha’s southwestern forest.Tourism
In the heart of Ihitha’s capital is its trading district, a labyrinth of streets lined with small shops and open-air stalls. Under the ever-present dusk, lanterns and silverfire torches cast warm glows across polished stone paths, guiding merchants and wanderers alike. Every corner hums with quiet trade — artisans selling finely crafted goods, apothecaries displaying bottled moonlight, and tailors weaving garments laced with faint livine shimmer.
The district never truly sleeps; night is its busiest hour. Beyond the inner market, the streets widen into plazas surrounded by larger shops, cafés, and galleries owned by noble families. While outsiders are rarely permitted this deep into Ihitha, those who have seen the trade center describe it as the pulse of the nephir world — a place where silence is currency and beauty is business.
