Session 4c: Exit, pursued by an owlbear/Spring Cleaning
General Summary
The Darkfurs went to their jobs and classes, and Mist and Star prepared their Talent Show acts. Both did extremely well, with Star even earning Professor Trotksy's Cloak of Protection for her performance and Mist getting a personal endorsement from Quincy himself for his tarokka readings. The Witherbloom/Quandrix rivalry was on full display, and a prop turned into a real Owlbear, which the trio defeated. Professor Trotsky approached the trio and told them to meet her in her office the following morning, at which time she told them about the corrupted spring and gave them holy water to purify it. She also told them that Witherbloom professors have been keeping secret records about Muxagor since he was defeated a hundred and fifty years ago.
The Darkfurs set out directly to the Spring, with Mist singing seas shanties, Jisra accompanying him on her flute, and Dr. Cawrawk dancing a jig on the bow of the skiff they were using. Star noticed something odd poking out of the ground on the islet with the spring and warned the others, so there was no surprise round for the giant crawdad that attacked them. The crawdad was able to grapple Mist and drag him away, but Mist, upset that the crawdad was not good for eating, stabbed it in whatever passed for its heart and killed it. While the other two kept watch, Star cleansed the spring and found a journal that belonged to Muxagor, who, it turns out, is Incel AF. The journal also revealed that Muxagor made a deal with something called a rakshasa, and wants to live forever so she can't take his soul.
