Governor-General

Requirements

To qualify for the position of Governor-General in the Polympian Empire, an individual must have achieved the rank of at-least Lieutenant-General or Vice Admiral within the Imperial Military. This requirement ensures that Governor-Generals possess significant military experience and leadership capabilities.

Appointment

The Governor-General is selected by the Imperial Defense Council (IDC) on the behalf of the Emperor. Before a decision is final it must be signed off by the Lord General, who in turn would need to have the Emperor's approval for the decision. Even Though this often is just a formality, it does provide the Emperor with an option to directly appoint someone, though typically the process is left to run its normal indirect course.
Once selected the new Governor-General, if not already on world, will travel to the world of appoint and typically hold a ceremony signifying taking over the leadership of the world. if the world already is under some imperial administration, be that a Civil administrator, a Noble Lord or a previous Governor-General. this former leader will give a welcoming and farewell speech as part of the hand-over ceremony. prior to the Ceremony it is typically announced across world that a Governor-General has been appointed. during the ceremony it is typically expected that the Governor-General will hold a speech, to the soldiers and citizens of the world now under command, outlining the visions and directions for the future.
Such a ceremony is typically followed by a banquet for the "who is who" of the world.
