Cauda Prime

Cauda Prime is the first planet in the Cauda Star System, located in the Scorpio Constellation. This planet is known for its lush oceans, fertile lands, and strict military governance, The planet's atmosphere, though tainted, supports a large population, and its ring system and moons give it a distinctive appearance from the surface. While life on Cauda Prime is tightly regulated, the planet remains a vital contributor to the Dominion's economy.

Star System

The Cauda star system consists of five planets, with Cauda Prime being the closest to the star. The planet is orbited by two moons and features a visible planetary ring. Cauda Prime Alpha, its closest moon, has a thin atmosphere and icy surface, hosting only a small research and mining outpost. The second planet is barren and without atmosphere, supporting occasional outposts for logistical and resource extraction. The third planet, despite having a standard atmosphere, remains uninhabited but is orbited by three moons. Of these, Cauda III Gamma, with 50% of its surface covered in ice, shows potential for future colonization. The fourth planet is small and inhospitable, with one small moon. The system’s outermost body is a gas giant with ten mostly uninhabited moons.

Geography

Cauda Prime features a standard atmosphere, albeit tainted, which necessitates the use of advanced filtration systems. Around 80% of the planet's surface is covered in water, with fertile coastal regions supporting the planet's vast agricultural industry. The planetary ring and two moons create a unique visual spectacle, particularly during twilight and night.

Society & Culture

Life on Cauda Prime is governed by a strict military administration. Civilian movement is tightly controlled, and the planet's laws are stringent. Nevertheless, the planet's population enjoys relative comfort due to its agricultural wealth. The society emphasizes order, discipline, and efficiency, all hallmarks of a society under military rule. While the nobility traditionally owned much of the land, the military administration’s influence ensures civilian life is structured, with harsh crack-downs on any violations. Despite this, some individuals occasionally circulate rumours about unusual activities or government practices, but these claims are often dismissed as unfounded.

Economy

Cauda Prime's economy is largely driven by agriculture, with vast tracts of fertile land producing foodstuffs for the Dominion. Its strategic position within the Scorpio Constellation also enhances its importance as a key border region. The planet’s advanced atmospheric filtration systems and infrastructure ensure continued production and trade despite environmental challenges and stringent societal control.
