Makedia

Makedia was formerly known as Makedunum ("Artificial Dome"). There is some variation in the writing of the first part of the name (Emake-, Onnak-, Mago-). The city's economy is based on tourism for centuries now. The proximity of the Sadikro lake and the presence of a lake in the commune stimulate this activity. Makedia is also surrounded by mountains and a preserved nature - the commune is included in the peripheral zone of the national park of the Makedia Dome - and equipped winter sports resorts (High-Tores, Low-Tores, Cranevionn, Ebrode). The city's tourist accommodation consists of 11 hotels (average 115 rooms), from one to four stars, 14 campsites (2 853 pitches).   Makedunum was, for a time, the capital of the province before Archevelial got heavily reinforced as a continental capital. In addition of this, and the extremely diverse actions around the Sadikro lake (Run, kayak, eat, paddling, swimming..). Still, it's a very known place of vacation, even for not Grimms, as we can sometimes see humans or even Pure Kharises (Which is extremely rare on Sorakarios..) take their holidays there, for the calm but also possibly active moment.

The Makedonium

The purpose of the monuments was manifold. First, the blocky, concrete construction was meant to signify the resilience of the strong inspirations from the Sôr architectural style, making a big contrast with the rest of the human city. The futuristic style symbolized forward facing optimism for the nation. Individually, the gigantic statues surrounding the structure commemorated an event in Grimms history, probably for a victory in battle or a tragic massacre.   The monuments is still in use; for example, it holds a museum in its belly, in opposite of others, like the Decalian Monument have been neglected, but are still regularly visited. Its counterpart on the mountain is completely abandoned. Moss grows in its cracks, and the only way to find it is by wandering through the forest, as no signs point the way. The name of the architect is lost to history.
