Precursor Speech
A strange language by human terms. Each word-equivalent is marked as a single symbol, with different patterns describing different "letters". Vocalization ranges from human range to beyond human hearing range, ultrasound specifically. Most precursors prefer to converse "telepathically", that is, with implants capable of transmitting thoughts. The symbols, too, include colours as a distinguishing element only visible with infrared.
Of course, this doesn't describe every language in the Precursor species. Instead, it describes their Lingua Franca, their English, in a way. It also describes the way precursors speak in general.
"My apologies. I have not spoken aloud in a long while. We prefer to converse telepathically, I suppose, via cybernetic implants."
Writing System
Each word consists of shapes, arranged around a core. Each shape and pattern represents a letter.
Morphology
Different pitches and lengths of sounds indicate different parts of words, letters, in a way. Describing different cases, positions, plurals and singulars is nigh-on impossible for humans, me especially, since again, it's an alien language, with no connection to any of ours. Those words might not even mean anything to them.
Excuses, I know, but still.
Syntax
Suprisingly similarly to human languages, sentences consist of subsequent words and phrases.
Phonetics
Screeches and grinding noises. Roughly. To human ears at least. Some sounds are in the infrasound range.
