Black Comet

A confident, easygoing, African-American man, Black Comet is a hero and member of Ocean Shield. His abilities often make him one of the first responders of the team, and the media enjoys interviewing him as he's a laid-back but entertaining man who's always willing to give them time. While he's often seen slipping about San Francisco, Black Comet also spends a great deal of time studying, as he's known to be in a couple of correspondence courses for a Master's degree in Agriculture.

Black Comet is considered a Class B superhuman, but due to his training there's some speculation that he may reach Class A.

Black Comet is a flying speedster, capable of reaching speeds of up to 800 miles per hour in seconds, but isn't capable of changing directions instantly, suffering some effects of inertia. This allows him to break the sound barrier, though his powers prevent any sonic boom from being created. His main price is a lack of endurance, as using his full speed for more than fifteen minutes continuously is difficult, so he always carries a number of energy bars to help him recover quickly. He is also somewhat stronger and tougher than his physique would suggest, but his powers are primarily focused on his speed.
