Tatu never managed to quell the Floran tribes on Halcyon Verge, a point of masked embarrassment as it was her first holding. Izel was moved from security into R&D and tasked with not only recreating warp drive constructions but intergalactic warp and safely. An impossible task. Izel has nearly unlimited resources but the foundational technologies and infrastructure just isn't present and the USCMC remains rooted in industrial era technology for most of its citizens. Still relying on relics from the past for their entire spaceborne infrastructure. The Avian Crystals from the depths of Aviar Deep are plentiful and powerful but resources required to properly exploit them just aren't present.
